Hello,
Inspired by
, the author of Life is in Love With Me, I’ve decided to add (for what may be the third time) an option to pay for this newsletter. I want to assure you that the only time there will be paywalls on my posts is if I am sharing original visual work — surprise! I also make little videos. Below is a part of Amara’s About page that explains her use of the paid subscription feature which is now an explanation of my use of it in addition to the reality that I am a full time college student with many things to pay for, working three jobs and still not making enough — if i’m being totally honest. As much as writing is what I love to do and in many ways a method of distraction from the stressors listed previously, it is also time consuming and laborious. So if you do choose to pay the $5 a month, I would be so incredibly grateful. And if you don’t, I am still so happy that you are here and reading. At the bottom of this post I will be sharing a very short film I made that is very personal to me and dear to my heart. If you choose to access it, I hope you enjoy.
All Love,
Vic
Becoming a paid subscriber supports my work and vision. It doesn’t necessarily lend to any definitions of the worth or value of my writing. Instead, it aligns with my framework of ideas about generosity repaying generosity. I choose not to paywall my pieces because I would love for these discussions to remain accessible to all. I believe in loving exchange, I believe in being radically rested and never burnt out, and I believe writers’ offerings are always enough. I base this newsletter on these principles and hope this can inspire ease as well as your thoughts around paying for writing. For that reason, your decision to become a paid subscriber is truly a love offering and I receive it, gratefully, as such.
As a thank you, paid subscribers will receive a gift upon subscription, a secret in the form of a backstory, and my gratitude for supporting independent writing and this labour (of love). If you are not able to support me with a paid subscription or donation I still deeply appreciate you being here and engaging in this newsletter each week. - Amara Amaryah

***I will be writing a bi-weekly (probably) column called Wayward Wonderland for
and its first post is coming next week! It will explore the daily life of Black and POC queer sexualities including my own personal narrative and, hopefully, y’all’s :)***Sex Doll (2023)
As I said earlier, the only time there will be a paywall is for my visual work. Below is the link to a very short film I made last spring titled Sex Doll featuring my very good friend Eleanor. It’s an experimental telling of my internal “coming out.” I unfortunately had to private it on YouTube because creepy old men were finding it on their search for free porn. This is not a pornographic film, at least not by my definition, and even if it was I do not welcome that audience and neither does Eleanor. So please, be respectful in your viewing, though I have no doubt you all will be.
